Only 3 Weeks to go in the Unpredictable NFL

What jerseys will show up under the Christmas tree this year? Reggie Bush, LaDainian Tomlinson and Tony Romo, of course.

Although we had a full slate of games yesterday, the games that blew me away were the San Diego Chargers/Denver Broncos and the Dallas Cowboys/New Orleans Saints.

Jake Plummer looked pretty upset on the sidelines yesterday as he watched Jay Cutler flush the Bronco season down the toilet – Shanahan made the move to Cutler prematurely. And how refreshing to watch a natural talent like LaDainian Tomlinson bust through Shaun Alexander’s record, giving credit to legendary predecessors like Walter Peyton.

And wasn’t Reggie Bush electric last night? The home and cooled out Dallas Cowboys got a real wake-up call as did Tony Romo - and just in the nick of time. Better for Tony Romo to get a good dose of NFL reality in Week 14 than round one of the Playoffs. The Cowboys will have no trouble bouncing back from this loss and will make the necessary adjustments – you can bet that Bill Parcells will dissect every second of that game tape.

And a final note for New York Giants fans – did you sleep a bit better last night? Eli Manning looked much better yesterday. They have no gimmes left this season, and yesterday’s victory went a long way to earning them a Wild Card berth. If nothing else, they are entertaining to watch, and with the weak NFC, could cause a little chaos before all is said and done.

Personally, after last night, I want to see as much of the San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints as possible. The Saints in the Super Bowl? Okay, not if the Bears play up to expectations, but I think the NFC is up for grabs – Drew Brees has a statement to make and Reggie Bush loves the stage.
