It was a valiant effort by Eli Manning and Jeremy Shockey didn’t leave anything in the tank either. And it’s the end of an era with the retirement of Tiki Barber. It’s on to a career in broadcasting for Tiki. The resurgent Eagles under the stability of Jeff Garcia were just too much. And if anyone gained from the Romo debacle, it was David Akers. Never was there more concentration and care given to a field goal attempt than the winner on Sunday. No screw-up and storybook runback by the Giants defense. And let's face it, the Giants had a horrible season. Before I leave this game, I have to talk about my game MVP - Brian Westbrook. He's a warrior and practically carried the Eagles on his back. And now it's on to New Orleans where the Eagles will have a very difficult time running against the New Orleans defense.
Now, the BIG rumour out of New York- the return of Bill Parcells in the GM role! Just what the doctor ordered!! Giants fans everywhere are praying this is for real. And if Jerry Jones is adamant that Terrell Owens remains a Cowboy, than he’s brought all this on himself. Parcells loves control and loves New York. And that look of disbelief on Jerry Jones’ face? Yes, there appears to be a very big loophole that Parcells is taking advantage of - he can’t coach anywhere other than Dallas next year – but no one said he couldn’t be a General Manager. The Tuna is the one to right the ship in New York and to end the locker room antics. But his first task – find a new head coach. Tom Coughlin won’t be part of the rebuilding. What an interesting week this will be.
