Just a few final comments on last week’s Wild Card matchups before we move on to the Divisional Games…
I wasn't really looking forward to the Patriots/Jets game and frankly it held no surprises. New England totally controlled the Jets in the first half and methodically buried them in the second half. Having said that, the Jets had a better than respectable season with Chad Pennington giving fans a lot to look forward to next year.
But by the third quarter, I found myself looking forward to New England's tilt with San Diego. Philip Rivers vs Tom Brady. Corey Dillon vs LaDainian Tomlinson. Schottenheimer vs Belichick. New England is about to meet a complete team - adept at defense, offense and special teams. This is a dream matchup and the AFC Championship game will be anticlimactic after this game. The Patriots will definitely miss Safety Rodney Harrison. Barring injury, the Chargers are unstoppable and Super Bowl bound.
