There isn't anyone who doesn't love the Super Bowl

As most of the world knows, the Game of Games, THE sporting event event of the year (only the Summer Olympics draws more attention and only the inauguration of a President requires more security) was played yesterday, February 4th. That's right, I am talking about none other than the NFL Super Bowl, where the top teams of the American and National football conferences go head to head, with the winner being declared world champions. This years game was played in Miami, Florida, in Dolphin Stadium and pitted the
NFC champion Chicago Bears against the AFC champion Indianapolis Colts. The game was won by the Colts by the score of 29-17, in a rain-soaked game chock full of turnovers, missed catches and botched handoffs, due in most part to the steady rain that never really let up.

The Bears, led by University of Florida quarterback Rex Grossman jumped to an early and electrifying lead when University of Miami return wizzard Devin Hester took the opening kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown. This was the first time this had been accomplished in the entire 41 years of the Super Bowl! However, once Peyton Manning and his Colts took the field, they took control of the game, never relinquishing it and even though Mannings' 247 yards were not record-breaking, it was enough to pulloff a victory against the Bears.

Peyton comes from a legacy of football players, his father being legendary New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning and his brother Eli, currently the quarterback for the New York Giants.

This years' Super Bowl had a notable 'first'. It was the first time an African-American head coach (Tony Dungy) had reached this pinnacle of success and the first time both participating teams were lead by African-American head coaches. Chicagos' head coach, Lovie Smith and Dungy are off-field very close friends, which made the hoopla
surrounding the game, even more interesting.
