This coming Sunday is the nation’s biggest sports event of the year: the Superbowl. While many are predicting Tom Brady and his undefeated Patriots to have an easy game (the points spread has been huge, at least 10 points almost everywhere), you can’t just count out the Giants. No one expected the Giants to get this far, certainly not when they had to beat both the Cowboys and Packers away. Yet, Eli finally pulled through and the Manning legacy is apparent once more. Don’t be too shocked if Manning and the Giants upset yet another team this weekend because it certainly is possible, especially if the Giants line can put pressure on Brady like they have put on quarterbacks all season long.
The Chargers season ended yesterday with a loss to the Patriots, but things may have been different if LaDainian Tomlinson and Philip Rivers were 100%. That bodes well for the Chargers’ hopes next year, as Norv Turner has already showed that he has what it takes to lead the Chargers to success in the playoffs. Philip Rivers played with an injury, after he landed weirdly on last week’s game against the Colts. L.T. was in so much pain yesterday, that he wasn’t even able to play. L.T. is a dominant player and huge part of the Chargers’ offense, losing him was a big hit, but the Chargers’ still managed to stay fairly close to the Pats. If they are able to stay healthy next year, you may see another great playoff run by San Diego.
